Happy New Year, LFT family!!! I know that I’ve been gone for quite a while, and I promise that an update on why is coming soon. Thank you to those of you who continued reading old posts and a HUGE thank you to those of you who reached out and talked about how much the blogs have helped you. I’m ready to come back this year energized and prepared to deliver on my blogs as best I can.
As some of you may know, every year, my mom and I make a vision board to highlight our goals and intentions for the upcoming year, and this time was no different. HOWEVER, I’m happy to say that my husband, Marlon, joined us for the first time in creating a vision board! It was so cool to do this as a family, and I loved seeing him intentionally think about goals and ways to better himself.
The theme for my vision board this year, as you can tell from the title, is “Getting Back to Me.” I’m so excited to show the finished product and dive into why I chose this theme.

Getting Back to Blogging
Full transparency moment — last year was really stressful, and I was too stressed and overwhelmed to blog. After starting a new position at my job and moving to a new apartment, I was exhausted. I was able to push through and continue blogging, but unfortunately, it came a point in the year when I just couldn’t anymore. I promise to talk more about this later, but I essentially lost my passion for writing and couldn’t power through anymore to deliver blog posts for you all. Thankfully now, I feel rejuvenated and energized to write! Thank you all for the tremendous amount of patience and support you have shown me lately, and I hope that you stick around for the ride.
Getting Back to Music
If you know me, you know that I love listening to music. I’m a 90s baby who loves every single genre except heavy metal, sorry metal heads! For context, my “Top Artists” in my Spotify Wrapped list from last year included Sam Cooke, Leslie Odom Jr., Tori Kelly, Post Malone, and The Weeknd. Marlon got me a vinyl record player for my birthday in September, and I loved the journey of researching records that I wanted to own and music that I wanted to dive into. Music has always had a special place in my heart — I was in the choir in high school, I played the violin in middle school and high school, and I have fond memories of singing in the car with my dad and learning about harmonies as a kid. For as long as I can remember, music has brought me so much joy, and I can’t wait to explore new artists and rediscover ones that I’ve grown up listening to.
Getting Back to Health
I spent the better part of last year letting way too many people stress me out. I can’t fully stop this from happening, unfortunately, but I can do all that I can to better my health and wellness. This includes prioritizing body movement, cooking more, taking my daily vitamins, drinking more water and homemade immunity shots (which I just made yesterday and taste surprisingly delicious!), allowing my body and brain to rest, and doing my daily skin routine. In prioritizing my health, I am constantly reminding myself that I am worth the effort and energy to pour back into myself. I give so much to others, and doing these will be a special thank you from me to me.
Getting Back to Reading
The past two years have been such a fun time diving into various books and genres, and I loved every second of it. I didn’t read as many books as I wanted to last year, but I did start a new book series that has kept me on the edge of my seat! Marlon recommended it to me, and we have bonded so much over the plot and characters. It’s a long series, so I still have a long way to go, but I love the feeling of transporting myself into another world when I read. Reading has become my haven, and I plan to lean on that when I’m struggling mentally. This year, I’m super excited to discover new books and authors while filling up my bookcase and rating the books on my Goodreads account.
Getting Back to Finances
Last year, Marlon and I cautiously leaped into the investment world. We don’t know a lot of people who invest, but we always wanted to venture into it to better our finances. Well, it was a scary experience of both gains and losses, but we learned a lot about it through research and experience. This year, I’m eager to learn more about investing wisely and saving my money responsibly. In another moment of full transparency (man, I’m revealing a lot today), Amazon received WAY TOO MUCH of my money last year, and I want to build my savings account rather than increase the length of my “Order History” page. Building our finances and setting ourselves up for financial success is super important to me, and getting back to my frugal mindset will hopefully serve us well in 2025.
Welp, that’s my vision board! I’m super proud of it and eager to see how well I do at the end of the year. Do you have a theme for 2025? Do you have any goals that you want to see through this year? Did you create your own vision board? Let me know in the comments — I want to hear from you! 😊
